Delhi, January 2024 – The smart roof industry in Delhi is experiencing unprecedented growth as the city grapples with extreme weather conditions and rising pollution levels. The Delhi Smart Roof Initiative, launched in late 2023, has catalyzed a surge in smart roof installations, with over 5,000 new projects reported in the first quarter of 2024.
Smart roofs, which integrate technologies such as solar panels, green roofs, and reflective coatings, are becoming increasingly popular among Delhi residents and businesses. According to a recent report by the Delhi Urban Development Authority (DUDA), the installation of these roofs has led to a 15% reduction in indoor temperatures and a significant decrease in air conditioning energy consumption, aligning with the city’s goal to combat the urban heat island effect.
